Experience the Future with XIAOMI’s WIRELESS AR GLASSES!

Xiaomi’s Wireless AR Glasses is a revolutionary technology that allows users to experience Augmented Reality (AR) completely wirelessly and hands-free. They offer a wide range of features, including voice recognition, gesture control, and even eye-tracking technology.

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has finally unveiled its new wireless AR smart glasses. The AR glasses use the same Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 1 chipset as the Meta Quest 2 and Pro.

Xiaomi Wireless AR Smartglass Features

Several companies have announced that AR glasses will play a bigger role in the technology this year. The Vuzix Ultralite is a stylish smart glasses reference design announced at CES and products are expected to arrive this year. Pokemon Go developer Niantic teased its prototype AR glasses last year.

While the company didn’t share full specifications, it unveiled a few key features. The device is called the ‘Xiaomi Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition‘ and is more or less a prototype despite being such an amazing product. The AR glasses have two micro OLED displays with retina-level resolution and 58 pixels per degree (PPD). The company is yet to announce a resolution or FoV for the facility. XDA Developers opined that the displays “pump out a Full HD image at 1,200 nits of brightness.”

Called the Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition, the prototype uses a pair of micro OLED panels. With a peak brightness of 1,200 nits and “free-form, light-guiding prisms” to seamlessly blend the real world with the digital. The front of the lenses is even electrochromic, allowing them to adjust your viewing experience depending on the lighting conditions. For example, you can activate a dimming mode that dims your peripheral display, helping to make your viewing more immersive.

They also mentioned that the product was ready for production, the only problem was the short battery life. Xiaomi seems to be trying to improve battery life and reduce production costs before launching the AR glasses. The company also showed off a similar prototype AR device in 2021.

Xiaomi’s AR Glasses: A Game-Changer in the Tech Industry

The glasses are designed to be lightweight and comfortable so users can wear them for extended periods of time without discomfort. They also come with a high-resolution display that provides a clear and immersive AR experience. The glasses connect wirelessly to your smartphone, meaning you can move freely while wearing them. And despite not being tethered, Xiaomi says there’s almost no lag or delay between inputs and what appears on the display.

AR smart glasses also need a compatible smartphone to play AR games and apps. Fortunately, the device can be connected wirelessly with a latency of only 50ms, which is hardly noticeable. Users can also use onboard hand tracking and smartphone-based touch controls to interact with apps.

The device supports hand tracking using cameras on the front of the glass. According to Xiaomi, the AR glasses weigh 126g and even have an attachable goggle clip for nearsighted users. The device also features electrochromic lenses that adjust to different lighting conditions and even has a “dimming mode” to act as a VR headset.

There are no details yet on the price or availability of the Xiaomi AR glasses. However, the company is working closely with Qualcomm to ensure compatibility with Snapdragon Spaces-ready smartphones.

Get Ahead of the Curve with Xiaomi’s AR Glasses

One of the most impressive features of Xiaomi’s wireless AR glasses is their ability to seamlessly integrate with various devices, including smartphones, tablets, and even drones. This allows users to utilize the capabilities of AR glasses in a wide variety of situations, from gaming and entertainment to education and training.

Overall, Xiaomi’s Wireless AR Glasses are an exciting step forward in the world of AR technology. With their advanced features and intuitive design, they have the potential to change the way we interact with the digital world around us.

Wrapping up

Since Xiaomi’s Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition is still a concept, there was no mention of price or availability. And if we use a concept device from other companies, there is always a chance that it will never make it to market. That would be a shame, of course, because this Xiaomi prototype shows great potential in realizing the potential of AR.
